Does this sound familiar?

If you're an NDIS support worker, probably yes.

15-30 minutes per shift, unpaid

The NDIS requires detailed progress notes after every shift. Most workers write them after hours - on their own time, without pay.

⚖️

One wrong note can fail an audit

Missing mandatory fields or incorrect formatting puts your provider's NDIS registration at risk. Getting it right every time is stressful.

You got into care to care

You chose this work to support people - not to spend your evenings on documentation. Your time should go to people, not paperwork.

What support workers say

Real quotes from people doing the same work as you.

I used to stay 30 minutes after every shift writing notes. Now I do it in the car before I drive home. Honestly life-changing.

Sarah T.

Home Support Worker · Sydney, NSW

My provider kept flagging my notes at audit time. Haven't had a single issue since I started using ShiftNote. The format is exactly what they want.

Marcus D.

NDIS Support Worker · Melbourne, VIC

I work with 6 different participants. Keeping track of the right language for each one was so hard. This app remembers it all for me.

Frequently asked questions

Straight answers - no over-promising.

Is this a replacement for ShiftCare, Brevity or Lumary?

No. ShiftNote works alongside your existing care-management system. It helps workers write a clearer first draft, which they review and copy or paste into the system your provider already uses.

Does this guarantee NDIS compliance?

No - and you should be wary of any tool that claims it does. ShiftNote produces NDIS-aligned progress-note drafts structured for review. Your team remains responsible for checking, editing, and approving every note, and for meeting your provider and NDIS obligations.

Can providers invite workers?

Yes. A provider admin creates an organisation, sets a note template, and shares an invite code or link. Workers join in a tap, and the admin sees aggregate usage from one simple dashboard.

Does the AI replace human review?

Never. Every output is clearly a draft. Before a note can be copied, downloaded, or sent, the worker confirms a short review checklist. The worker stays the author and remains responsible for the final note.

What happens if an incident is mentioned?

If the details mention things like a fall, injury, medication error or behaviour of concern, ShiftNote shows a neutral reminder to follow your provider’s incident management and reporting process. It does not diagnose anything or decide whether something is legally reportable - that stays with you and your provider.

Is participant information used for analytics?

No. We never send note content, participant names, reference numbers, diagnoses, medications or incident details to analytics. We track only privacy-safe usage events such as note created, note copied, and template updated.

Can we customise the note structure?

Yes. Provider admins can set the preferred tone, structure (paragraph, bullet, SOAP-like or custom), required fields, and a custom instruction. Those preferences shape every draft your team generates.
